TO ERR IS HUMAN

Scientists, especially those of the Japanese, should humbly reflect on this proverb.
The 3.11 earthquake and the Tsunami that took place in the North-eastern Japan were divine. But the disasters of the nuclear plants that have been still unsolved are sheerly artificial.

Theories, formula, calculations on the desk and maybe the experiments in the labs may work. But not always in the real world. There are so many parameters and chaotic variations on this small planet that the scientists cannot even reason theoretically the relationship between a fluffy butterfly and the tornado in the Caribbean Ocean. They may be able to set off a nuclear bomb successfully but are not capable of running the nuclear power plants sustainably.

It is true that the contemporary cosmophysics and quantum mechanics have opened many doors toward the universe. Some scientists even say that they have come almost an inch away to solving the mystery of the birth of the universe. I am afraid they are a little too optimistic. If they solve one problem, there comes out another. If they conquer one universe, there emerges another. Even the theory of relativity cannot transcend the uncertainty principle.

On the other hand, Zen, a philosophy of Buddhism, seems to me, to help one see the truth of the whole universe instantly when you achieve enlightenment. It had been stated “Every form in reality is empty and the emptiness is the true form,” long before the scientists could prove something similar.

Knowing or not knowing the absurdity of the human kind, the hortensia in my little garden blooms after the morning shower. The revelation of the multiple-universe.

In the hortensia                                           Ajisai-ya
Revealed is                                             Tajigen-uchu
The multiple-universe                             Kengen-su
